Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and I really enjoyed my day. I got to call and wish my Mom a happy Mother’s Day, and I wish I could have visited her.
Mr. Wonderful took the boys to get me chocolate (win!) and a really cute card (win!) plus, we all went to church together. Mr. Wonderful also brought home breakfast, and then in the afternoon he grilled. It was a good day!
I really loved reading everyone else’s posts about their day, too. Being able to see glimpses like that made me realize how much Mom’s really do for their families. Several husbands posted about their wives, and it made me realize that in all of our mothering, we are affecting more than just the kids. People are watching and learning from us, even if they aren’t the kids.
I got to read first hand how valued women are, even seeing many “Mother’s Day” wishes for women that have not yet had kids. I know that no matter where we are in life, as women we tend to undervalue ourselves. But yesterday was a great reminder that we are valuable to our husbands, our friends, our kids, nieces and nephews, parents, pastors, and most importantly, to God. He has placed each of us where He wants us to be, and given us an enormous “job” to care for those around us.
I love these reminders, what about you?
I seldom leave a response, but i did some searching and wound up here Mothers Day | Perceptions by One.
And I do have some questions for you if you do not mind.
Could it be simply me or does it appear like a
few of these responses look like they are left by brain dead
people? 😛 And, if you are writing at additional online social sites, I’d like to keep up with anything fresh you have to post. Would you list of all of your community sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
